BRT fresh: new openings for the fresh delivery service, already active in several cities in Italy

BRT enhances the BRT fresh service for the delivery of fresh food products between 0 and 4°C through a specialized logistics and transport network; predetermined time slots; delivery to the floor; great flexibility and constant shipment monitoring.
BRT, the leading operational group in Italy for express transport and the only one to deliver throughout Italy within 24 hours, strengthens the BRT fresh service for the delivery of fresh food products, both in B2C and B2B sectors. Following the recent inaugurations of the service in the cities of Naples and Bari, which join the 5 centers opened in 2023 and 2024 covering various locations in different provinces, BRT announces, on the occasion of Tutto Food, a new series of openings in the cities of Florence, Verona, and Parma, which add to the service already operational in the cities of Milan, Turin, Padua, Bergamo, Bologna, Modena, Rome, Naples, and Bari. Overall, by the end of 2025, the operational centers will be at least 12, thanks to the opening of additional sites and partnerships under evaluation.
With investments already exceeding one million euros in the logistics necessary to ensure the entire management of products, the food sector consolidates as one of the strategic segments of the Geopost group (of which BRT is a part), with the aim of becoming a leader in temperature-controlled deliveries. The entire management of products is carried out in compliance with HACCP directives, for the analysis and control of all potential risks during transport phases. Deliveries are made with dedicated vans, refrigerated or using specially made and constantly sanitized isothermal containers.
The BRT fresh service provides deliveries five days a week and, in specific situations, even on the same day as the order, with predetermined time slots and delivery to the floor. The service, with a maximum weight per package of 31.5 kg, is carried out by personnel with specific training in the transport of food products. The end customer also has the option to choose from multiple delivery options, all typical of an express transport service, for a highly flexible solution.

The enhancement of BRT's e-commerce transport services meets a growing trend in food spending that has expanded in recent years and marks a +24% over 2024 (source: NetRetail research).
A choice made for convenience and economic advantage by the private buyer, who is on average 49 years old, with a marked interest in fresh products: in Italy, fresh products represent 50% of the total online food purchases, generating a market of 4 billion euros in 2023 (source: B2C eCommerce Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano).
The types of goods transported through the BRT fresh service are mainly meats, dairy products, and cured meats, followed by fish and ready meals. For 2025, approximately 150,000 shipments are expected, with the most requested destinations being Milan, Turin, and Rome. Extreme attention to the management of the expiration date of transported products is guaranteed with the blocking of packages in case of expiration date exceedance and an additional operational process is provided in case of product recall by the sender.
