Geopost Earns Dual Certification for Trusted Carbon Reporting

Geopost’s Carbon Calculator has just been recertified by Smart Freight Centre and is now compliant, for the first time, with both the GLEC Framework and the ISO 14083:2023 standard. This renewal confirms the credibility of our carbon data and reinforces the reliability of the information shared with our clients to support reporting and decision-making. 

From the start, the Carbon Calculator was designed to give customers access to accurate and actionable carbon data. By using operational data collected along the parcel journey, the tool provides a clear view of emissions linked to each shipment, guiding customers towards precise carbon management. This renewed certification confirms that the methodology behind those figures meets recognised international standards.

The addition of ISO 14083 (International Organization for Standardisation standard for greenhouse gas emissions from transport chains) is a key step forward. The GLEC (Global Logistics Emissions Council Framework for harmonised logistics emissions reporting) Framework already provided a strong reference point for logistics emissions, particularly in Europe. ISO alignment brings wider recognition, making carbon data easier to understand and trust for a broader audience. For clients, this means consistent, comparable data they can use with confidence in their own sustainability reporting. 

The Carbon Calculator is now deployed in 21 businesses across the Geopost network. A major upgrade is its integration into myDPD for business, giving customers direct access to their emissions data within the platform.  

By renewing our certification and expanding access, we at Geopost continue to support customers with transparent, reliable carbon data. The Carbon Calculator remains a practical and powerful tool to help businesses better understand their emissions and make informed choices.
