Chronopost becomes no.1 for business deliveries

Our Markets 13 June 2025

In a gloomy economic climate, delivery is becoming a key success factor for companies

In the highly competitive world of parcel delivery, Chronopost, France's leader in express delivery of parcels weighing less than 30 kg, has established itself as the number 1 for delivery to professionals * with 103 million B2B parcels in 2024, to France and abroad. Chronopost’s strong growth in the B2B sector, up 25% between 2020 and 2024, is all the more significant given that this market is based on modest growth, closely linked to GDP, which increased by only 12% over the same period.

According to a study** conducted by Geopost, Chronopost’s parent company, 81% of professionals believe that a missed delivery has a direct impact on their business activity.

“Delivery has become a key success factor for businesses, especially in an increasingly challenging economic climate. Deliveries intended for businesses come with specific requirements depending on the sector, and Chronopost has been committed to meeting these needs for many years.” emphasizes Benoît Frette, Chairman of Chronopost.

Chronopost's strong development in the B2B market is due to several factors.

Strong Preference Among Businesses for Speed

First and foremost, businesses have a strong appetite for speed. 86%** of companies that regularly receive parcels prioritise next-day delivery, with 74% specifically favouring morning delivery. Chronopost has established itself as the only carrier guaranteeing next-day delivery before 1 p.m. across the entire French mainland, while maintaining a very high level of service quality, with over 9 out of 10 customers satisfied.

This performance is made possible by a robust industrial network, with a highly dense territorial presence that ensures close proximity to businesses. In addition, Chronopost operates a unique transport network that enables it to meet delivery deadlines even across long distances, including major cross-country routes.

Around 15% of B2B parcels handled by Chronopost are destined for international markets, reaching 220 countries and territories. Delivery times are guaranteed to the exact day for shipments to 30 European countries, meeting customers’ expectations for precision and reliability.

Modernising the Business Delivery Process

In France, most companies still require paper-based proof of delivery, including a stamped delivery note. Chronopost is leading the way in digitising proof of delivery for businesses: a project is currently being rolled out that enables delivery drivers to scan the stamped paper delivery note, transforming it into a digital proof of delivery that is available in real time and cannot be disputed.

Tailored Development to Meet the Needs of Different Sectors

In recent years, Chronopost has experienced strong growth across several key B2B-driven market verticals, notably High-Tech, Industry, Healthcare (with Chronopost Healthcare), and Food via its subsidiary Chronofresh.

This sector-focused approach has enabled Chronopost to gain an in-depth understanding of its business recipients and to deliver, in a single drop-off, parcels from multiple senders, generating operational synergies and enhancing the customer experience.

Chronopost has adapted its processes and infrastructure to meet the specific requirements of each sector. For high-tech products, constant monitoring and highly secure storage areas have been implemented. In the healthcare sector, Chronopost, which works with the top 10 pharmaceutical companies, ensures full parcel traceability and strict temperature control for temperature-sensitive products, such as certain medicines.

Thanks to these advancements and the strong commitment of its teams, Chronopost expects to maintain the same pace of B2B growth over the next five years.
