Pickup and MédiaKiosk formalize their nationwide partnership
Our Markets 21 November 2025
Following the agreement signed between La Poste and JCDecaux in April 2025, Pickup is accelerating the rollout of its parcel pickup and drop-off services within the MédiaKiosk network across France.
Pickup, a subsidiary of La Poste Group and France's leading network of pick-up points and lockers, and MédiaKiosk, JCDecaux's specialist in press kiosks and other commercial uses entity, are formalizing their national partnership. This agreement aims to deploy Pickup points in newsstands to facilitate access to parcel services in urban areas throughout the country. While 54 newsstands are already Pickup collection points today, the goal is to reach 100 locations by the end of 2025.
Complementary offers for local convenience
This partnership is in line with the agreement signed in April 2025 between La Poste and JCDecaux to improve the accessibility of postal services, which can now be provided in JCDecaux-operated newsstands located in Paris and in regional cities. In addition to these services (stamps, postage, mail drop-off), thanks to this new partnership, customers will now be able to pick up or drop off their Chronopost, Colissimo, or DPD parcels. These complementary, practical, and high-value services will diversify the activities of newsstands.
"This new partnership is a natural extension of the agreement between La Poste and JCDecaux, further broadening the scope of possibilities," explains Maxime d'Hauteville, President of Pickup. "La Poste meets essential postal needs, while Pickup helps with e-commerce parcel management. Our business enriches the range of services offered by newsstands, allowing customers to buy their newspaper, post their mail, and collect their e-commerce orders, all in one place on their daily commute."Marc Bollaert, Director of MédiaKiosk, states: "Following the agreement signed with La Poste last April, we are delighted to be working with Pickup to set up this new local service. The primary aim of this collaboration is to help newsagents who are independent entrepreneurs, by bringing them a new, younger customer base that may not have been accustomed to visiting newsstands. In that way, it strengthens our presence within local communities and complements our commitments by providing high-quality services in city centers, which are an integral part of the JCDecaux model and MédiaKiosk, our entity specializing in newsstands and other commercial uses. Together with Pickup, we share the same ambition: to offer residents accessible and useful service points that simplify their daily lives and reinforce local ties.”
A strategic network across dense urban areas
The MédiaKiosk network includes 770 newsstands located in 180 cities throughout France. However, Pickup and MédiaKiosk have opted for a targeted approach. The 54 newsstands already operating as Pickup points are strategically located in high-density urban zones with strong parcel volume needs. They are located near public transportation and high-traffic areas.
This alliance reflects the expectations, lifestyle, and consumption habits of French consumers. According to the 2025 Geopost e-shopper barometer, French online shoppers continue to favor out-of-home pick-up points: 57% choose merchant pick-up points, compared with 24% in Europe. This preference is driven by the convenience, flexibility, and human interaction these locations provide.
A boost for kiosk owners
Pickup’s operations have been specially designed to integrate seamlessly into the daily routines of newsstand operators. It considers their space constraints, so as to generate customer traffic and diversify their income without encroaching on their main business.
As Maxime d'Hauteville, President of Pickup, explains: "For newsstand, being a Pickup point is much more than simply handling parcels. It's an opportunity to meet new customers, build loyalty, engage in conversation and create meaningful connections. With this partnership, we want to highlight the central role these retailers play in neighborhood life, while helping them boost their business. The customer, the retailer, everyone wins."
