SEUR is hiring 2,800 extra staff to prepare for Black Friday, Christmas, and the sales peak

Our Markets 29 October 2025

SEUR expects to handle over 33 million orders from November 24th to January 12th, with peaks reaching over one million packages a day.

Black Friday will once again kick off the Christmas season, one of the busiest periods of the year for retail and logistics. From November 24th to mid January, SEUR expects to handle over 33 million shipments, with peak days exceeding one million packages. Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, Seville, and Málaga will be the provinces with the highest concentration of activity.

To meet this increase in demand and maintain service excellence, the company will boost its staff with 2,800 new hires, primarily delivery drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service personnel. The reinforcement plan also includes expanding operational capacity with new warehouses and logistics centers, as well as adding 2,000 additional vehicles, 33% of which are sustainable. These measures will ensure delivery times and maintain service reliability during this high-demand season.

This year's campaign is expected to be especially productive. According to the latest E-shopper Barometer from Geopost, SEUR's parent group, 73% of Spanish people shop online, a percentage that has grown for the first time since 2021. As a result, a significant increase in this sales channel is expected over the coming months.

"At SEUR, we work every day to give our customers the best service. This means that during the Christmas campaign, we must reinforce our teams to cover this increase in volume during such an important time for consumers. It is our responsibility as a leader in Spain's transport sector to offer our customers the best possible experience," stated Benjamín Calzón, Chief Operating Officer of SEUR.

SEUR frío, essential for the Christmas Season

SEUR has solidified its leadership position in temperature controlled transport services with one of the most advanced logistics networks in the country. Its infrastructure includes 600 specialized vehicles and 82 refrigerated warehouses dedicated to transporting sensitive products like meat, fish, seafood, prepared meals, dairy, and pasteurized beverages. The company has invested over one million euros in implementing IoT technology, which allows for real time temperature monitoring throughout the entire logistics chain, ensuring maximum product quality and traceability. This commitment to innovation has made SEUR the first Spanish company certified by AENOR under the ISO 23412 standard for temperature controlled parcel transport.

Pickup network boosts Out of Home services

During this campaign, SEUR's Pickup network, with over 10,000 active points in Spain (8,000 convenience stores and 2,000 smart lockers), will be key to streamlining both deliveries and returns. This option is gaining exponential traction in Spain, as confirmed by the E-shopper Barometer, which shows a clear decline in home as the preferred delivery location (-10 points vs. 2023) in favor of the rise in out of home options (+5 points).

Furthermore, the company has implemented new features for this service, such as the incorporation of a QR system that eliminates the need to print labels, making the process faster and more sustainable. It has also added a cash on delivery payment option at points within this Pickup network.
