DPD Germany further expands its global shipping services

With the DPD EXPRESS international shipping option, customers can already send their parcels to over 220 countries. For 28 destinations, DPD now offers a cost-optimized shipping alternative with attractive transit times and an excellent range of services.

Whether China, South Africa or the USA - the international shipping market is becoming increasingly demanding. Thanks to the combination of its own network and renowned cooperation partners, DPD Germany specializes in the worldwide delivery of parcels. In order to offer customers an even broader range of services, DPD Germany is introducing the DPD CLASSIC Worldwide shipping option for 28 destinations. With the new service DPD customers can, for example, send parcels to the United Arab Emirates in a cost-optimized way - including cross-partner shipment tracking. In addition, the innovative transit time calculator gives shippers a constant overview of the standard transit times for international EXPRESS parcels, enabling them to offer their customers an all-round carefree package. This makes DPD Germany the perfect partner for international parcel shipping.

Andreas Thams, Chief Sales Officer at DPD Germany, underlines the importance of the expanded offering:

”In international parcel shipping, predictability and reliability are more in demand than ever. With DPD CLASSIC Worldwide we are expanding and differentiating our product range in this area. Regardless of whether a customer wants to ship his parcel within Germany, Europe or across one of the great oceans, DPD is the right shipping partner with its 800 depots worldwide. With the new DPD CLASSIC Worldwide shipping option we offer optimum delivery times at attractive prices. The further development of our international shipping offering will remain a central component of our product strategy in the future in order to make the difference for our customers.”

About DPD Germany

DPD Germany is part of the international Geopost, the largest parcel network in Europe. DPD has 79 depots and 7,700 pickup parcel shops throughout Germany. More than 9,600 employees and 12,000 delivery staff work for customers every day. Every year the number two in the German parcel market transports more than 400 million parcels - and does so in a completely climate-neutral way, without any additional costs for customers. With numerous initiatives for sustainable parcel delivery, DPD shows how parcel shipping can be made environmentally friendly and locally emission-free, especially in city centres.

With innovative technologies and a consistent focus on the needs of all customers and recipients DPD offers a simple, convenient and flexible service for B2B and B2C parcel shipping. One example of this is the Predict service, which is unique in the industry. It enables DPD to tell the recipient on the day of delivery exactly when the parcel will arrive, down to the hour. In live tracking within the last hour before delivery, the time window even updates to up to 30 minutes. Only recently the testers of Stiftung Warentest praised the live tracking of the test parcels they posted and the 100 per cent adherence to DPD's predicted delivery times. On the recipient side, DPD is also the only company in the test to receive a "good" rating for delivery.

Geopost ships to 230 countries worldwide and has a uniform network of 83,000 pick-up points with harmonised services, including cross-border shipping. Last year around 120,000 employees and business partners throughout Europe ensured that more than 2 billion parcels were successfully delivered to customers. DPD's parent company is Geopost, a wholly owned subsidiary of the French Groupe La Poste. Geopost achieved a consolidated annual turnover of 15.6 billion euros last year.
