The milestone celebration welcomed all DPD Ireland staff, alongside 37 depot owners and their teams from across the country. The scale of the event reflected the extraordinary growth of the business since its beginnings in 1986, when the company operated with revenues of €500,000 and annual parcel volumes of 20,000.
Today, DPD Ireland has grown into one of the country’s leading parcel delivery networks, with revenues expected to reach €239 million this year and parcel volumes projected at 48 million.
A central theme of the anniversary celebrations is the company’s long-standing connection to local communities throughout Ireland. Over the past 40 years, generations of families have built careers within the business, first through Interlink Ireland and later as part of DPD Ireland, creating a strong legacy of local employment and entrepreneurship.
The event was attended by senior international leadership from Geopost, DPD Ireland’s parent company. Guests include Yves Delmas, Chief Executive Officer of Geopost, Board Member of Geopost and Executive Vice President of La Poste Groupe, and Alberto Navarro, Executive Vice-President Europe at Geopost and member of the Geopost Board of Directors.
Speaking at the event, Chief Executive of DPD Ireland Des Travers said :
“This anniversary is not just about celebrating business success, it is about recognising the people, families and communities who have been part of our journey over the past 40 years. From our earliest days as Interlink Ireland to becoming DPD Ireland, local people have been at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of our history and excited about the future.”
