During the New Mobility Congress, organized by the Polish New Mobility Association and held in Lodz, DPD Poland - as one of the leaders in sustainable logistics in the field of courier services - was awarded the main prize of Electromobility Leader 2024. The award is proof that we not only focus on sustainable innovations, but also successfully pursue our ambitious environmental goal NET-ZERO 2040.
At the award ceremony, DPD Poland was recognized for its efforts in developing sustainable logistics services. We boast an impressive fleet of more than 500 electric vans and nearly 100 cargo bikes, which operate in 25 cities in Poland. This reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) and noise emissions, which has a positive impact on urban living conditions. It is also important to mention the DPD Pickup network, which has 30,000 parcel shops and automatic lockers in Poland, including more than 8,000 APMs. With such a high density of points and parcel machines, DPD Poland has the most accessible OOH network in Poland. Customers can pick up and ship parcels at local stores or APMs during their daily activities, which has a positive impact on reducing delivery-related emissions. In addition, through the DPD Mobile app, they gain flexibility and control over their parcel, including through options to redirect to a DPD Pickup point, they can reduce unsuccessful delivery attempts.
„The Electromobility Leader 2024 award is a great honor for DPD Poland and a confirmation of our effectiveness in implementing our sustainable development strategy. Not only we do invest in modern technologies and more sustainable transport solutions - such as electric cars and cargo bikes, but we also actively engage in the dialogue on the future of electromobility. Participation in the New Mobility Congress is an opportunity for us to share experiences and analyze the best available solutions and practices to further work on our environmental goals, further improve delivery efficiency and positively impact the quality of life of city residents.” -
admits Maksymilian Pawlowski, communications manager at DPD Poland.
Content partnership and presence at the fair
During the three-day event, we participated both as a partner of the event and as an exhibitor. We provided two exhibition stands that attracted the attention of numerous Congress participants.
The stands included a cargo bike and a parcel machine, while DPD representatives introduced interested parties to the history and concept of the sustainable city logistics platform based on DPD Pickup City Branches as cargo hubs, electric cars and cargo bikes. The booth also featured videos related to cargo bikes and sustainable solutions used by DPD Poland. Our parcel machine became the center of fun for congress attendees - those who already had or installed the DPD Mobile app could choose a number from 1 to 20 and receive a small gift, hidden behind a locker door in the machine. At an outdoor booth, visitors could try their hand at riding a cargo bike and experience an electric courier car from the inside.
Discussion panels and exchange of experience
We also took an active part in panel discussions at the New Mobility Congress. The first panel, held on September 24, was devoted to sustainable solutions for city logistics. During the discussion, in which Maksymilian Pawlowski, Head of Corporate Communications, was a participant, innovative solutions for sustainable city logistics were discussed, including the use of electric vehicles for deliveries, the role of cargo hubs and the popularization of cargo bicycles as an answer to traffic congestion in city centers. The second panel, held on September 26, was dedicated to the companies awarded in the Electromobility Leader competition. The assembled speakers discussed the challenges and future directions of electromobility development in Poland and around the world.
