SEUR frío grows 19% in 2025, driven by the boom in online shopping for fresh produce and groceries

Our Markets 11 June 2026

The company currently operates a fleet of around 600 refrigerated vehicles and 82 temperature-controlled facilities dedicated to transporting sensitive goods. SEUR has invested over one million euros in IoT technology to guarantee temperature traceability from pickup to delivery.

SEUR frío, the company's temperature-controlled transport service (operating between 2°C and 8°C), continues to consolidate its growth thanks to the boom in online shopping for fresh food and groceries. In 2025, this service recorded a 19% increase, reinforcing its position as one of the company's core strategic solutions.

This growth is a response to evolving consumer habits and the rising demand for logistics services capable of guaranteeing fast, safe, and temperature-controlled deliveries for highly sensitive products. In this context, SEUR frío has become a key ally for food sector companies that need to preserve product quality throughout the entire transport chain.

Currently, SEUR boasts a fleet of around 600 refrigerated vehicles and 82 temperature-controlled warehouses dedicated to transporting sensitive items. Meat products account for 20% of the total volume, alongside seafood, ready-to-eat meals, cheese, dairy, pasteurized beverages, and processed foods.

A New Era in Cold Chain Traceability

The company has invested more than one million euros in deploying an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system that guarantees temperature traceability from the exact moment of pickup to final delivery. To achieve this, SEUR has installed over 2,000 temperature measurement devices equipped with NB-IoT technology across all refrigerated cargo units. This includes delivery vehicles, more than 500 ATP-certified containers, and around 100 cold storage rooms within the company's network. This technology enables continuous and precise temperature monitoring, enhancing the service's safety, quality, and reliability.

Furthermore, SEUR frío has been available for shipments to France since 2017, making it the only operator to offer this type of service internationally. Portugal has now been added to this corridor, expanding the company's capacity to support its clients in the international transport of refrigerated products.

This commitment to excellence is also reflected in the AENOR ISO 23412 certification, awarded in 2021. This made SEUR frío the first solution in Spain's logistics sector to receive this recognition, which validates temperature-controlled and refrigerated land transport services for parcel delivery involving intermediate transfers.

Santiago Hernández, Chief Customer Officer, stated :

"SEUR frío continues to grow because it addresses an increasingly vital need for both businesses and consumers: receiving fresh food and groceries with total peace of mind. Our goal is to keep driving a specialized, innovative, and reliable transport model—one capable of ensuring temperature traceability throughout the entire process while supporting the food sector's growth across its various channels, both inside and outside of Spain."
