Stéphanie Berlioz, EVP and CFO of Geopost, wins Special Award for Responsible Finance!
As the convergence of Sustainability and Finance has become a strategic issue, Geopost is happy to announce that Stéphanie Berlioz, EVP and Chief Financial Officer of Geopost, has been awarded a special Responsible Finance Executive Award by the DFCG, the French Association of Financial Controllers and Directors. This award is a further recognition of our ambition and determination to become the international reference of sustainable delivery.
The Responsible Finance Executive Award
The Responsible Finance Executive Award of the DFCG recognises the initiatives of finance executives who have contributed to significant projects focusing on Sustainability issues in finance processes. The aim is to measure the role of the CFO within the company, and to assess their impact on the company's overall performance.
Geopost’s EVP and CFO Stéphanie Berlioz has been awarded during a ceremony held at Financium, the major conference for financial executives, on Nov 16th 2023 in Paris. The panel of judges was made up of finance and sustainability professionals and senior partners from the world of finance and business.
Geopost’s Net Zero Plan by 2040 and the Carbon budget process
In 2023, Geopost defined an ambitious Net Zero plan by 2040. To achieve the decarbonisation commitment endorsed by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) - a 43% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030 compared with the 2020 baseline and net zero emissions by 2040 - effective governance (operational and financial) at Group level is required.
With the ambition of jointly assessing financial and environmental aspects, the Finance and Sustainability Departments have put in place an annual carbon budget process: a maximum amount of CO2 emissions to be emitted for a given year and by each business unit. The aim of this is to enable business units to manage their CO2 emissions and associated investments to ensure that they meet the decarbonisation targets set out in the SBTi trajectory.
